Paul Jalbert named new Executive Director of CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming Branch

NEWS RELEASE

Paul Jalbert named new Executive Director of CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming

(Timmins, Feb. 4, 2019) – The Board of Directors for Canadian Mental Health Association Cochrane-Timiskaming is pleased to announce Paul Jalbert as the agency’s new Executive Director.

Paul joins CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming from the Child and Family Centre in Sudbury, where he spent the past 13 years, most recently as Director of Clinical and Client Services. His experience in the mental health field spans 14 years, 10 of which were spent delivering mental health services to children and families as a frontline staff member.

“CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming’s search committee has had the opportunity to discuss with Paul his views on leadership and his perspective on mental health and addictions services,” said Sarah Stewart, chair of the board for CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming. “It quickly became apparent Paul has a passion for people, is an intent listener and has dedicated his career to the mental health and addictions sector. Paul has the experience, the competency and the values required to lead the branch into its next chapter.”

A Laurentian University grad and faculty member for 10 years, Paul is excited to return home with his wife, who’s also from Timmins, and their four children.

“I was born in Kirkland Lake and I lived in Timmins until I left for university, so in many ways this is a homecoming for me,” said Paul. “I want to thank the Board of Directors for their confidence in selecting me as the next Executive Director for CMHA Cochrane-Timiskaming. I’m very familiar with the pressures and challenges in the system and I look forward to advocating for mental health and addictions services in our region.”

Paul will assume the Executive Director position effective Feb. 11. The position has been vacant since July 17, 2018 when former Executive Director Clark MacFarlane left to become CEO of CMHA Grey Bruce.
